Our ethos

WyEd only takes work from business, charities and campaigns engaged in work which we consider to be sustainable in that the effect of their activities leave the natural ecosystems on which humanity depends in an steady or improved state. We will not take work from organisations engaged in or promoting environmentally damaging practice, nor those engaged in or promoting exploitative trading practices whether overseas or in the UK.

Instead we seek commissions from organisations which agree with our ethos. For example current client projects include encouraging an interest in local politics, promoting walking to school, and highlighting the benefits of rail travel. Although in the early stages in our business, we are seeking work on the promotion of trade justice, local food, sustainable farming, healthy and sustainable lifestyles, practical food growing and cooking skills, energy efficiency and climate change, through school curriculum development schemes.

We work from a home office. We have chosen not to own our own vehicle, we cycle for local journeys and make a presumption to use public transport for meetings with clients around the UK. We use recycled office materials. We use and actively support the Fairtrade Movement and environmental campaigns, for example managing the local Fairtrade and Friends of the Earth websites free of charge.

We are opposed to schemes which use schools to market products directly to children. The focus of our schemes is on behavioural change and the promotion of key sustainability, health and ethical messages through high quality educational materials. Positive PR generated through this will be general to the providing organisation rather than focussed on a product, and used to effect the communication of the key messages.
